AI Characters (Synthetics) in the Alien Movie Franchise

Andy is a damaged, functional Weyland-Yutani Synthetic who acts as the pun-loving brotherly companion to farmer Rain Carradine at Jackson’s Star colony on ringed planet LV-410. Andy, who was salvaged and reprogrammed to protect Rain by her father, serves as Rain’s only family after the death of her parents. When Rain’s labor sentence is extended, and transferred to the mines, her ex-boyfriend Tyler Harrison asks if he and his sister Kay and cousin Bjorn could borrow Andy’s security clearance to investigate an abandoned Weyland-Yutani research station, The Renaissance, which is drifting in orbit above the colony. This way they can steal hypersleep chambers that would allow them to all travel to a new planet.
The Renaissance turns out to be a research facility experimenting with the cocooned Xenomorph found floating near the wreckage of The Nostromo. Andy is given an upgrade chip from a downed Synthetic aboard the station so that he can override a lockdown and help save the others from a Facehugger attack. The chip changes Andy, however, making him more powerful, focused, and with a directive to follow Weyland-Yutani protocol.
Andy now acts coldly, bonding with a damaged science officer Synthetic named Rook and rescuing samples “Z-01,” a black goo-like fluid extracted from the studied Xenomorphs. He even gets Kay, who is pregnant, to inject herself with the fluid to heal her injuries, later resulting in the birth of the Offspring.
After a Xenomorph attack, Rain removes Andy’s chip, returning him to his old sweet, malfunctioning self. With the others dead, Rain, Andy, and Kay escape into Tyler’s Mining Hauler before The Renaissance crashes into the rings of LV-410, but Kay gives birth to the Offspring, which kills her and downs Andy. Rain kills the Offspring and sets her and Andy on course for the planet Yvaga III, which doesn’t allow Synthetics, though Rain remains hopeful they will make it there safely and that Andy will be allowed to stay.
