  1. This is so random, but I love the photograph that was in your last kitchen – the woman with a book on her face. Are you able to share who the artist is? Or where you got it from?

  2. Grocery prices have skyrocketed recently and that with shopping at high priced market will give that high spending. Aldi’s prices have gone up like the rest, but they’re still cheaper. I can get 3 hearts of romaine for 1.99 at Aldi’s and at the regular grocery store it’s 3.99. Tofu is cheaper as well and is organic.

  3. You should find an acceptable recipe for treats and make it with your kids. Baked goods can be frozen, so make double. Frozen baked goods can defrost in the morning for after-school activities, etc. As you can see, some packaged vegan treats, even those from Whole Foods, are highly processed and expensive in stores.

  4. That strawberry vanilla Olipop is not soda water, it's a probiotic soda. Which is sort of healthy alternative to sugared sodas, they're high in fiber, relatively low in calories, and most of the ones I've had taste pretty good.
They taste like a real soda to me, but they're far better for you and have no artificial sweeteners

  5. I dont know if you have a "choices health food market" and sometimes it branches to the sister store choices in the park" in your country but its equivalent to nesters or trader joes or whole foods .its more of a smaller market very pricey vegan and non vegan item store. But sometimes they drop their prices down. I only get certain things but i rarely shop their but this store chain only has the items i need all other stores dont carry it. And i get most of my other vegan stuff at costco.

  6. This happened to me as well. For 30+ years I moved from Europe to Australia. You feel like you have never been shopping, everything looks different and the first month I compared the prices. Nowadays when I go to Europe for a visit it's the other way around 😂

  7. Hello! I have watched your videos forever, and I live in Austin. So I'm going to throw some ideas your way…

First of all, I don't agree that Whole Foods is always the most expensive store, especially if you are a Prime Member and shop sales. Some other good options in Austin are Sprouts and Trader Joe's (which I think you have been to – spotted the bags). Also Fiesta is soooooo good for interesting produce at a reasonable price. Don't sleep on Fiesta. Patel Brothers and other Indian marts have great prices on lentils. And H Mart for tofu and hot roasted sweet potatoes that are to die for.

Natural Grocers, Wheatsville, and Central Market are good for interesting specialty WFPB options. HEB is generally my go to, but it can be very expensive for things like hemp seeds, etc. Costco and Sams have limited wfpb options but maybe a worth a look if you buy a LOT of produce. Mueller farmer's market is generally $$$ but I have found crazy fun things there like black eye pea tempeh.

Welcome to Austin from someone who loves your channel and has visited NZ many times.

  8. You only go to Whole Foods for things you absolutely cannot get anywhere else that you like to have. Trader Joe’s is amazing and so is Aldi. The saying here is, “Whole Foods, Whole Paycheck” 😂😂😂

  9. While food is super expensive. I’m not from Texas but I know plenty of wfpb folks shopping at HEB. Trader Joe’s, Aldi. If you get a membership to Costco there’s stuff there too

  10. I live in Pennsylvania and stick to Aldi and Walmart, and Trader Joes. 've been to whole foods once a year ago and could not believe how expensive it was! You can find the same produce or comparable at Trader Joe's which is much less expensive.

  11. Daaaangggg!! $400 is A LOT! Given, you are doing all new re-stock shopping, but I would recommend NOT doing all your shopping at Whole Foods. Yes, they have a lot of good vegan friendly products, but your normal grocery store will have most of that stuff too. It just might take a little more searching to find some of the products and where they are available. BTW, my fave ramen is SOON. It is an Asian brand and is much cheaper than other ramen cups and it is SOOOOO good!

  12. We need to see a reaction montage of what you think of the products that we call "healthy" and what you think of them the kids reaction too! Cause I think the chick pea pasta is gross – rather just eat chick peas!

  13. 400 at whole food is way to much. You can have a whole grocery haul including laundry detergent, bodywash and toothpaste that will last months and not to add, large bags of frozen veggies and organic fruit from Costco and still will be less than that😮
